Eco-Worthy had a contest that I won and they sent me the new Cubix 100 48V server rack battery! This is an $840 battery and I was happy to receive it.
I haven’t had a chance to put it through the paces yet but I spent quite a bit of time with it. I’ve seen teardown videos of other brands and the earlier version of Eco-Worthy server rack batteries and there are a number of improvements that I feel really make this battery top in its class. While I have a lot of testing to do I wanted to point out a number of little details Eco-Worthy got right that are not immediately evident.
Build quality – the quality of components and the case build are what you would expect from a premium brand. 1st quality REPT cells with the humped bus bars for expansion, case was beautifully finished inside and out and the list goes on. All the boxes checked that everyone looks for in a build.
Wiring – the wiring is done right. Cables are bundled properly, main voltage carrying lines are the correct size and protected. No detail was missed all the way down to the balance leads being color coded by row and legible labels on each lead.
Main breaker – big upgrade with the addition of the shunt release breaker in addition to the regular 125A breaker. Another easily missed detail is the temperature sensor on the breaker. Something I haven’t seen before in other batteries and a welcomed upgrade.
Documentation – this is one thing that you rarely see covered in reviews. The documentation on the battery, apps, software is excellent. It’s very apparent that time was taken to make sure that it was done properly. Definitely not the poorly translated stuff I’m used to seeing. Nice touches like the bag it came in and the separation into an operating and software guides. Plus a card with QR code for easy registration.
